After lots of consideration, the organizers of Anime California have stopped holding future Anime California events and the corporation behind Anime California has been permanently dissolved. Unfortunately venues in the California area have become increasingly expensive for the type of event we organize, and it was determined that hosting future Anime California events would simply not live up to the hype and expectations we have built for our fans. An excellent anime convention requires sigificant assets and finances, and because we were unwilling to compromise on the quality and integrity of the event experience for fans, each year Anime California either barely broke even or lost money.

If any other event appears calling itself Anime California, that event is not affiliated with Anime California or its original organizers or owners or corporation, and uses the name without authorization. Many first year conventions in recent years have had problems, with examples including Universal Fan Con, Epic Icon Comic Con, Dash Con, or Paraguay Comic Con, so we urge caution to anyone looking into attending a new convention.

How to Apply:
We appreciate your interest in attending Anime California 2016 as press. All Press Inquiries must be emailed to: ac.industry.press@gmail.com, and need to include the following in the body of the email:

Qualifications for a Press badge:
*Every person attending must be able meet and supply some or all the following items.
News and Press outlet organizations. (including High School / College Press)
1.) Must have been in operation for at least two years.
2.) Business cards with full name, title, contact information and organization logo.
3.) We cannot accept business cards without printed name and contact information.
4.) Web based outlets may need to provide traffic analytics, upon request.

The follow will NOT be considered for a Press badge, and are invited to purchase an attendee badge, or apply for a photography badge:
• Personal blogs
• Cosplay photographers
• Photo galleries
• Micro bloggers

After Applying:
Status of application will be sent to the email address provided. If the application is approved the applicant will receive an email verifying their confirmation. Once approved, you will receive a link to Press registration- You must complete this form. Each person approved for press must register separately.
Picking up your badge:
Further instructions will be sent via email on when and where to pick up your badge.

*Guest Interview Procedure
All interviews with official Anime California guests must be requested and arranged with our Press Relations staff. Our staff will arrange interviews with guests, and their representatives as their schedules allow. Requesting an interview does not guarantee that one will be arranged.
*Ad Hoc Interviews
Interviews with general members, dealers, other than official Anime California guests do not require Press relations staff approval.

Industry

How to Apply:
All individuals that wish to register as “Industry” and request complimentary entrance to Anime California must email: ac.industry.press@gmail.com with the following information:

* Registration deadline is August 1st, 2016. Please apply in advanced. There will be extremely limited Industry registration at con. All Industry submissions will be carefully considered and approved at our discretion.*

Qualifications for a Complimentary Industry Badge:
Individuals MUST be in active employment or have worked in the last 12 months with an industry company that is recognized as a production, licensing, post-production or marketing organization- working as part of the creative process, or at an executive level.
1. Positions considered part of the creative process are: (Voice Actor, Artist, Musician, Writer, etc.)
2. Positions considered at the executive level are: CEO/CFO/COO, President, Vice President, Director, etc.)
3. Only those working in the fields related to anime, manga and/or Japanese culture will be considered.

Credentials will be required (to be presented at check-in, if application has been approved) in order to receive complimentary entry into the event.
Acceptable forms of credentials are as follows:
* Business Card with company name, applicant name, and contact information.
* Paycheck Stub verifying full-time employment.
* Company Credit Card listing the applicants name and company name.
* W-2 Form
* Must be a minimum of 18 years of age by/on August 1st, 2015.

Notes:
* Companies may receive a maximum of 4 complimentary memberships only. Any additional individuals registering as Industry that are from the same company will need to purchase their memberships at the current registration price.
* International attendees should submit similar credentials unique to their country that confirm their employment.

* All registrants must be reviewed and approved by convention staff. You will be contacted via email if we require more information or further clarification. We reserve the right to deny applications at any stage of the process without explanation.

Photography

Photography plays a crucial role in the convention community. If you are a photographer
wishing to conduct photo shoots at Anime California we ask that you register as a
photographer.

A photographer badge is not the same as Press and/or Media. The Photographer Badge is
a way to identify photographers cleared by the convention to do photo shoots. Every
applicant will need to be qualified by the Staff of the convention.

Qualifications for a photographer badge may include (but are not limited to):

* Reviewing Photographers’ Past Work

* Querying Former Collaborators for recommendation

* Examining turnaround time

* Where the work has been posted

How to Apply

All individuals that wish to register as Photographers and request complimentary entrance to Anime California must email: ac.industry.press@gmail.com with the following information:
