2015 Theme: Obon Festival

Posted in: Anime California

This year’s Anime California theme will be Japanese Obon Festival! Help us honor the spirits of the ancestors.

According to Wikipedia, Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom to honor the spirits of one’s ancestors. This Buddhist-Confucian custom has evolved into a family reunion holiday during which people return to ancestral family places and visit and clean their ancestors’ graves, and when the spirits of ancestors are supposed to revisit the household altars. It has been celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years and traditionally includes a dance, known as Bon-Odori.

2015 Location in Anaheim

Posted in: Anime California

We are very excited to announce that Anime California 2015 will be held in Anaheim, California! This location may be familiar to many people with it’s position right next to Disney and next to the Anaheim Convention Center.

You can visit the location page to book your hotel room. Rooms for con attendees are only $125 per night for the convention. We encourage you to reserve a hotel room early in case we run out of rooms.

How to get your badge.

Posted in: Anime California

Today will be the last day to purchase your ticket to the convention in advance. Otherwise you can register with cash-only at the door starting Thursday.

Registration Grand Ballroom Foyer
Thursday – 3:00pm – 7:00pm
Friday – 9:00am – 6:00pm
Saturday – 9:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday – 9:00am – 2:00pm

Registration Prices
Full Weekend: $50
One-Day-Only $30

One-day badges can only be picked up or paid for on that day, except Friday badges can be purchased on Thursday.

We only accept cash as credit cards slow down registration lines that we are trying to make as fast as possible.

To pickup a badge you’ve paid for, all you need is an ID or your email confirmation. You may not pick up a badge for anyone other than yourself, not even a relative.

Hotel room prices increase soon.

Posted in: Anime California
We wanted to remind everyone that their last chance for getting a discounted hotel room for Anime California is near the end of this month.

After that time, room prices will be at the hotel's best available rate, which may be much higher than the convention price of $109/night. Go to our location page to book your room early.
